Sri City, July 25, 2025: Sri City had the honour of hosting Ms. Silai Zaki, Consul-General of Australia, during her official visit on Friday. The visit underscored the strengthening bilateral economic and industrial partnerships between India and Australia, with Sri City emerging as a key enabler of this engagement.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. R. Shivasankar, Senior Vice President (Marketing), Sri City, delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting Sri City’s unique advantages as a premier industrial hub. He emphasised its strategic location, sectoral diversity, social infrastructure, and explained the specific benefits of setting up manufacturing units within the integrated business city.
During discussions with the Consul-General, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, highlighted that with over 240 companies from 31 countries operating, Sri City has become a preferred destination for global investors—evidenced by the presence of Australian joint venture such as Venture Automotive Tooling India Pvt Ltd. He mentioned that the Sri City based Alstom Transport India Ltd, which manufactures world-class Metropolis trains supplies rolling stock to the Sydney Metro Northwest—Australia’s first fully automated metro system—marking a significant milestone in India-Australia industrial cooperation. Dr. Sannareddy expressed optimism that the visit would pave way for more investments from Australia.
Impressed by the scale and technological sophistication of the industrial park, Ms. Zaki remarked, “I was really impressed by Sri City! It is one of the best business parks I have visited in India.” Sharing a similar impression, Mr. Nathan Days, Trade & Investment Commissioner described Sri City as a forward-thinking business park with the scope, scale, and innovation to serve global manufacturing needs.
As a key highlight of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sri City and OxAir Pressure Vessels Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., an Australian engineering firm. OxAir Pressure Vessels Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., specialises in the design and production of high-performance pressure vessels and gas systems tailored for industrial applications. With its entry into Sri City, OxAir aims to expand its footprint in the Indian market and contribute to the region’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
The Consul-General also toured the park and visited the Venture Automotive Tooling facility—an Indo-Australian-South African joint venture specialising in advanced injection and blow-moulded tooling for the automotive sector. The unit stands as a strong example of the high-precision and innovation-driven manufacturing that defines Sri City’s industrial landscape.
