Sri City, August 19, 2025: Sri City had the privilege of hosting His Excellency Mr. Chang Nyun Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, on Tuesday. He was accompanied by a delegation comprising officials from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and representatives of Korean industry. The visit highlighted the deepening economic and industrial partnerships between India and Korea, with Sri City standing out as a key facilitator of this engagement. The team was cordially welcomed by Mr. Satish Kamat, President (Operations), along with Mr. Bodgan George, AVP (Business Development).
Mr. R. Shivasankar, Senior Vice President (Marketing), presented Sri City as a world-class industrial hub, stressing its strategic location, sectoral diversity, investor-friendly policies, robust social infrastructure, and unique advantages for global manufacturers. Using LG Electronics as an example, he highlighted Sri City’s dynamic ecosystem that fosters supply chain and vendor clusters. The delegation engaged enthusiastically, asking questions and noting features such as the various zones, social infrastructure, and green initiatives.
Commenting on the visit of the Consul General, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, remarked that the establishment of 240+ companies from 31 countries underscores Sri City’s global appeal. He highlighted Korea’s key role in this journey, saying, “With renowned enterprises like LG, SoluM, Hyundai Engineering Plastics (HDC), SK Pucore, and LG Polymers operating successfully here, our vision of building a world-class business hub is being realised. This visit will certainly enhance investor confidence from Korea.”
Impressed by Sri City’s scale and vibrance, the Consul General said,”As a consul general, it’s my third visit to Sri City. I’m very happy to see the expansion of Korean business presence here with the arrival of many Korean companies, including LG Electronics. I expect to have a closer cooperation between Sri City and the Korean business in the near future.” Hailing AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s vision, he underscored state’s advantages in location, talent, and connectivity, affirming that Sri City is a living example of these strengths with its robust, world-class ecosystem.
The Consul General also held meetings with the leadership of LG Electronics and SoluM, joined a luncheon with CEOs and CXOs of Korean firms, and made a site visit to LG Electronics and SoluM facilities under construction.
The visit underscored Sri City’s role as a catalyst for Indo-Korean collaboration, reinforcing its stature as India’s gateway for international investment and advanced manufacturing.
