Sri City Performance Overview in 2025

Key Highlights:

Sri City Integrated Business City concluded 2025 with steady progress across investments, employment, industrial activity, sustainability, and community development, reflecting strong investor confidence and continued collaboration with government stakeholders.

Early in the year, during his January visit to Visakhapatnam, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi acknowledged Sri City’s pivotal role in strengthening Andhra Pradesh as a leading manufacturing hub. This national recognition was further elevated in November when the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, described Sri City as the “best industrial hub in the country”, applauding its emergence as a model integrated industrial township. Adding to these milestones, Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble Minister for IT & Communications, graced the groundbreaking ceremony of LG Electronics’ manufacturing facility in April, symbolising the State’s strong and visible support for Sri City’s continued industrial expansion.

Commenting on the year’s performance, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director of Sri City, said, “2025 has been a defining year in Sri City’s journey. The continued confidence shown by global and domestic investors, coupled with the proactive support of the Central and State Governments, has enabled us to build a truly integrated, sustainable, and inclusive industrial ecosystem. The commitment of our resident industries has been central to achieving these milestones.”

Investment Momentum and Job Creation

In 2025, Sri City mobilised investment commitments of ₹20,250 crore through 43 MoUs. Of this, ₹11,750 crore was secured at the CII Partnership Summit–2025, held in November and presided over by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, through 20 MoUs. Additional commitments of ₹8,500 crore through 23 MoUs were received during the remainder of the year. The cumulative investments are expected to generate around 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities.

New Operations and Expansions

    • Operational activity gathered pace with 15 new companies commencing production during the year— five were inaugurated during the Partnership Summit and ten at different points across 2025. Alongside these, 15 existing units expanded capacity, reflecting sustained confidence among both new investors and established enterprises.
    • The year marked significant progress in industrial development across multiple sectors at Sri City. A major milestone was achieved in May with LG Electronics India Ltd. (LGEIL) commencing construction of its manufacturing facility in the presence of Mr. Nara Lokesh reinforcing Sri City’s emergence as a hub for consumer appliances. Proterial (Metglas), a Japanese major focused on advanced materials and components—including specialty steel, magnetic materials, power electronics, and automotive parts—has committed a significant investment in India at Sri City. Complementing this development, supply-chain investments and capacity expansions by Daikin further strengthened the township’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
    • Several other prominent investments contributed to sectoral diversification during the year. Epack Group, SCIC Ventures, and Mondelez India expanded their operations, while global companies such as Ball Corporation, Kryon Technology, Amber Enterprises, and Solum India High-tech broadened their presence, strengthening Sri City’s industrial base.
    • The logistics and packaging sectors recorded notable advances. NX Logistics India commissioned its Phase-2 advanced logistics facility, while Oji India Packaging inaugurated its fifth manufacturing plant, which is also its largest facility in South Asia, significantly augmenting regional capacity.
    • Manufacturing excellence was further highlighted on March 22, when Kobelco Construction Equipment rolled out its 20,000th excavator, marking a major operational milestone. In the automotive components sector, Nittan India doubled its valve production capacity, underscoring Sri City’s growing role in precision engineering and supply-chain strength.
    • In specialised manufacturing, VRV Asia Pacific achieved an important global export milestone on July 10 by supplying a large-scale liquid nitrogen storage tank to Air Liquide, Qatar, reflecting Sri City’s expanding capabilities in high-value, technology-intensive industries.

Diplomats’ Visits and Global Outreach

Sri City hosted a series of high-level diplomatic engagements during the year, reflecting its growing international stature. Ambassadors from Japan, H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi, visited the industrial hub and appreciated its world-class infrastructure and investor-friendly ecosystem. Consul Generals representing the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and the Russian Federation also undertook official visits, engaging with industry leaders and reviewing Sri City’s business potential.

International delegations from Australia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom, along with domestic industry bodies such as Chennai Angels and the Hindusthan Chamber of Commerce, also visited Sri City, reaffirming its growing global and national relevance.

On April 17 Mr. Naofumi Takenaka, President and Chief Operating Officer of Daikin Industries, during his brief visit to the Daikin plant  lauded Sri City’s world-Class industrial ecosystem

Senior government engagement included visits by Mr. Kondapalli Srinivas, Hon’ble Minister for MSME, and senior officials from APIIC and APSPDCL, who reviewed development initiatives and operations.

A delegation of SEZ pioneers, led by Mr. G.K. Pillai, IAS (Retd.), former Union Commerce Secretary, visited Sri City on April 26 and commended the transformation of the region into a sustainable, world-class industrial township through a consent-based land development model.

On August 2 Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, former chairman of DRDO and currently Honorary Advisor (Aerospace & Defence) to the Andhra Pradesh government, graced the 9th Batch Convocation Ceremony at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Sri City as the Chief Guest.

On September 5, Dr. T. Hanuman Chowdary, Padma Shri awardee and founding CMD of VSNL, visited Sri City and addressed industry leaders on India’s long-term economic vision.

In addition, over 525 Jagriti Yatra delegates visited on November 13, engaging with industries and entrepreneurship initiatives.

Sustainability and Environmental Initiatives

Sri City strengthened its sustainability drive in 2025 with biodiversity-focused seminars at the Flamingo Festival and a special exhibition stall highlighting green initiatives. Sri City Foundation contributed ₹10 lakh to the Forest Department to enhance infrastructure and visitor amenities at Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary, a vital migratory bird habitat. The Miyawaki plantation programme surpassed one million saplings, while Kobelco planted 10,000 Palmyra trees for its 15th anniversary. Renewable energy adoption accelerated as Mondelez commissioned a 6.2 MW solar plant and Bergen added 350 kW rooftop capacity. With 31 industries embracing solar, total installed capacity reached 46 MW.

Recognition and Accolades

Sri City industries earned multiple honours in 2025, including CII Andhra Pradesh Industrial Safety Gold Awards for India Foods, Kellogg India and Danieli India. Knauf India received GreenCo certification, while Sri City Foundation was recognised by the Indian Red Cross for organising one of the state’s largest blood donation camps. Sri City was conferred the BW Best CFO Award, while Isuzu Motors India was recognised for exemplary GST compliance, and Danieli India secured multiple CCQC awards for excellence in quality and innovation.

Safety Initiatives

Sri City reinforced workplace and community safety through structured programmes, including National Safety Week campaigns, regular fire safety mock drills, and targeted road safety initiatives. Community-led measures, such as the introduction of reflective collars for cattle in collaboration with local schools and the Sri City Foundation, contributed to reduced nighttime accidents.

Corporate Social Responsibility

During the year, nearly ₹3.25 crore was invested in CSR initiatives through the Sri City Foundation and partner industries. These contributions supported projects in education, healthcare, environment, and community welfare, including infrastructure for schools, health camps, afforestation, and disaster relief, reinforcing Sri City’s commitment to inclusive development.

Cultural and Community Engagement

Sri City fostered social and cultural engagement through activities organised by the Sri City Spiritual and Literary Forum (Srivani), including literary and spiritual programmes and the presentation of Ugadi Awards. National celebrations and community events further strengthened civic pride and social cohesion.

Going Forward

As Sri City steps into 2026, it carries forward the momentum of 2025. The Hon’ble Chief Minister has set a bold challenge: by 2029, Sri City must host 500 companies from 50 countries, creating 1.5 lakh direct jobs. In response, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy humbly accepted this challenge, pledging to work with government, industry, and community partners to achieve this vision. With its proven track record, ambitious targets for global presence, and a strong sustainability agenda, Sri City is poised to consolidate its position as India’s leading industrial destination—where economic growth, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship converge.
