Sri City, September 29, 2023:- Dr. N. Yuvaraj, IAS, Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Govt., of Andhra Pradesh visited Sri City on Friday, along with a team of senior officials. Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City extended a warm welcome and briefed on the status of the industrial development taking place in the business city. Dr. Yuvaraj had a meeting with the CEOs/CXOs of the industrial units.
Inviting the participants of the meeting Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy said that an effective industrial policy depends on effective implementation and continual efforts to create an environment that is favourable to investors. In order to keep the policy appealing to potential investors, the industries department in Andhra Pradesh, under able leadership, actively interacts with stakeholders, monitors developments, and makes necessary revisions. “Precisely this is the purpose with which the Industries Secretary is here, and I request all the participants to actively interact with him.”
Recalling his long association with Dr. Yuvaraj, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy said, “We owe you a great deal of gratitude for the encouragement and assistance given throughout the early stages of our development. We are thankful for having you here today, and we all extend a welcome.”
Reviewing the industrial growth in Sri City, Dr. Yuvaraj remarked, “I am excited to witness very rapid development taking place here, and I feel very happy to interact with you all.” He gave a brief overview of certain recent developments in the areas of fiscal incentive reimbursement, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, upgradation of infrastructure, establishment of a thriving ecosystem for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, skill development, etc., He invited the participants to give feedback on the policies and procedures of government and requested to put forward their ideas for improvement.
Participants brought to the Secretary’s attention a number of specific issues, including property tax in the Industrial Area Local Authority (IALA) area, incentive reimbursement from the state government, power interruptions and unexpected power outages, widening and strengthening of the highway between Tada and Srikalahasti, pending fire NOCs, and the need for prompt remedial action. Following a discussion of the problem areas Dr. Yuvaraj promised to address them as soon as possible.
Dr. Yuvaraj went round industrial zone and visited the production unit of Panasonic Life Solutions. Mr. E. Pratapa Reddy, Joint Director, District Industrial Centre, Tirupati and Mr. Chandrasekhar, Zonal Manager, APIIC were also present.
