Sri City, January 6, 2019: Mr. Nara Lokesh, Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Information Technology, Andhra Pradesh, accompanied by Mr. Talari Aditya, MLA, Satyavedu constituency visited Sri City on Sunday. Mr. Srini Raju, Chairman, Sri City and Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City extended a warm welcome. The minister was given a briefing on the world-class infrastructure and the brisk pace of development of Sri City. He went round the Mega Industrial Park, observed the available state-of the-art infrastructure and amenities inside the Park.
Mr. Lokesh expressed happiness as several industries have already invested in Sri City and offering livelihood to more than 40,000 people. He appreciated the efforts of Mr. Srini Raju and Mr. Ravi Sannareddy for setting up such a world class business City.
He visited the Foxconn’s Rising Star mobile production unit and addressed the employees. He appreciated Foxconn management for creating ample job opportunities for women. He was very happy to know that women employees, who hail from different parts of the state, are producing smart phones of famous brands. Mr. Josh Foulger, MD of the company gave a warm welcome and took him round the assembly lines and explained.
Addressing the gathering Mr. Lokesh said that after assuming office as IT Minister, Foxconn was the very first company that signed agreement with AP government. He said that of the 10 mobiles produced in India, 3 are made at Sri City based Foxconn, and for this he appreciated the employees.
Mr. Lokesh visited the IIIT campus and had a brief interaction with the students teachers.
Mr. Vikrant Patil, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Chittoor and a team of senior officials from state government accompanied the minister.
