Sri City, February 12, 2019:- Participants of the Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP), a weeklong workshop being held at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Sri City toured the Sri City Integrated Business City today. The team, comprising 25 senior professors from the leading higher education institutions, on its arrival at Business Centre, was received by Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City.
Briefing the visitors about the unique features of the eco-industrial park, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said,” We aimed at building a holistic eco-system for providing a sustainable environment to the best brands for setting up their ventures, strengthen the concept of providing urban amenities at a rural setting, and boost the economy of the region around us.”
“Premier higher educational institutions like, IIITs, NITs and IITs can play significant role in achieving this goal,” he added.
During the briefing session, they all evinced keen interest and quizzed on different aspects of Sri City. The team went round the mega industrial township and witnessed the works in progress at the production units Alstom India, the French industry that manufactures metro rail coaches.
The IIIT Sri City and and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli, in collaboration with the Singapore based Nanyang Technological University organised the workshop. The main objective of the LEAP is to provide required insights to the participants on the emerging international and national practices in higher education, and develop them to take up leadership roles in institutions such as IITs, NITs, Central/State Universities.
