IIIT Sri City Holds 10th Batch Convocation

Sri City, August 1, 2026: Sri City, August 1, 2026: The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Sri City, an Institute of National Importance, celebrated its 10th Convocation, awarding degrees to 328 students, including 10 Ph.D. scholars and 318 B.Tech. graduates. Degrees were conferred by Prof. S.R. Mahadeva Prasanna, Director (Additional Charge), in the presence of distinguished guests, faculty, students, parents, and alumni.

Padma Bhushan awardee Mrs. Suchitra Ella, Managing Director of Bharat Biotech, delivered the Convocation Address as Chief Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ramesh Venkateswaran, Chairperson, Board of Governors, and attended by Board members, including Mr. Srini Raju, Chairman, Sri City.

Mrs. Suchitra Ella urged graduates to become “persons of value” rather than merely pursuing success, highlighting resilience, conviction, patience, lifelong learning, innovation, and responsible use of emerging technologies. She called on students to dream boldly, uphold integrity and compassion, and contribute meaningfully to society. She also praised the vision of Mr. Srini Raju and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, for creating a world-class industrial ecosystem and emphasised IIIT Sri City’s role in fostering innovation and national development.

Prof. Ramesh Venkateswaran encouraged graduates to apply their education for nation-building, embrace lifelong learning and ethical leadership, and stay connected with their alma mater. He acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Srini Raju and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy.

Presenting the Annual Institute Report for 2025–26, Prof. Mahadeva Prasanna highlighted a 92.1% placement rate, an average package of ₹17.82 lakh per annum, and a highest offer of ₹1.2 crore. Other achievements included record Ph.D. admissions under the MeitY Visvesvaraya Scheme, 34 international journal publications, patents, recognitions from DRDO and NIOT, and UDBHAV, the national Inter-IIIT Hackathon.

Among the graduates, 248 were from Computer Science and Engineering and 70 from Electronics and Communication Engineering. Thirty-one earned Research Honours, 15 completed specialisations, and four achieved both. Gold Medals were awarded to Mr. Bishwajeet Sahoo and Mr. Mantri Varun Rakesh. The convocation marked another milestone in IIIT Sri City’s journey of excellence in education, research, and innovation.
