Sri City, August 15, 2022:- The Sri City community enthusiastically and fervently commemorated the 76th Independence Day, marking 75 years of the country’s independence from British rule. Prof. S. Ratna Kumari, the former vice chancellor of Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, unfurled the national flag and took salute at the celebration held on the lawns of the Business Center, in the presence of Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City. Mr. Y. Ramesh, Senior Manager, Security & Vigilance Division briefed the Chief Guest about the appreciable role being played by the Security teams in safeguarding the business city, and introduced the security officials.
“On this momentous occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, let’s pay rich tribute to all the freedom fighters, and rededicate ourselves in making our country a great nation and a better place to live and experience the freedom, peace, unity, and happiness,” Prof. Ratna Kumari said in her address to the community.
Stating that approximately twelve years ago, she had performed an economic assessment on the Sri City region while serving as the Economics professor at SV University, Prof. Ratna Kumari mentioned that with the establishment of Sri City, the area saw tremendous development. “Sri City has a beneficial effect on the entire region, and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy deserves appreciation for his careful execution, commitment to sustainable urbanisation principles, and drive to create jobs in the backward area,” she added.
Greeting the Sri City community on the occasion, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy said, “With the able leadership at the Centre and State, the country pledged to build Aatmanirbhar Bharat, a mission to produce goods and services for the world. In line with ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for World’ campaigns, Sri City does its bit in fuelling India’s ambition of becoming a manufacturing hub, giving a stimulus to creation of jobs and getting the economy on the fast track.” He expressed happiness at the active participation of the women and children from the neighbouring villages.
In recognition of their meritorious services in their duties, ‘Best performance’ awards were presented to 21 security guards, 10 others from Housekeeping, Landscaping divisions, and two police constables by the chief guest, Sri City MD and other dignitaries.
There were cultural programmes, including kolatam by a large group of women from Mallavari Palem, dances, etc., Appreciating the talented performance of participants, Sri City MD presented Cash awards.
NRIs from US, Mr. Haranath Chadive and Mr. Ramesh Annamreddy, Mr. Jagadish Nayak, Dy. SP, a host of dignitaries from the industrial units and a large number of employees and public from the neighbouring villages took part in the event.
Independence Day was celebrated in a befitting manner at all the industrial units, Development Commissioner’s Office, HRD Academy. IIIT, Krea University, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, seventeen government schools and fourteen anganwadies in Sri City villages.
