Sri City, November 27, 2018:- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Sweden-India Business Council (SIBC) and Sri City jointly conducted a one-day workshop on ‘Smart Buildings in Smart Cities’ in Sri City on Tuesday. Mr. Vijay Sai Meka, Chairman, IGBC Amaravati Chapter, and Managing Director, S & S Green Projects Pvt., Ltd., briefly explained the intent of conducting the workshop, and appreciated the Green & Smart Initiatives of Sri City.
Mr. Albin Carlen, Senior official of Swedish Government and Ms. Maria Sandqvist, Executive Director, Swedish Smart Grid, elaborately explained the smart building technologies that will improve buildings’ energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality, etc.,
Commenting on the occasion Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City said,“We are progressing with a commitment to set up sustainable eco-systems providing a ‘clean, green, breathe-easy’ industrial-urban agglomeration, built on the dictum of ‘work, live, learn and play,’ right from the design stage. With a total footprint of over 7500+ acres area, our’s is one of the first few greenfield cities in the country to achieve the IGBC’s Green City Gold rating.”

The session commenced with the welcome address by Mr. Satish Kamat, President (Operations), Sri City. Besides Ms. Arati Davis, Vice President, Sweden-India Business Council, and Mr. S Karthikeyan, Principal Counsellor, IGBC, a host of senior officials from IGBC and SIBC were present.
The main objective of the workshop was to facilitate implementation of Green Building & Smart City Concepts in India’s Green Smart Cities & Green Building projects. The aim of the session was to creat awareness on futuristic green technologies from Sweden, to select the Products & Technologies for implementation in Indian projects and interact with the experts in the field. Representatives of a few Swedish companies showcased their green technologies covering the subjects – Harvesting energy flows, Chemical free washing, Energy Storage, Smart metering solutions for Energy and Water, Light Urban Vehicles etc.,
Senior Managers of some of the operational units of Sri City have attended the workshop. All put together over 50, have attended the workshop.
