THK India’s holds ‘Open House’ ceremony at its Sri City unit

Produces Linear Motion Guides for various sectors, Supplied products to recent Chandrayaan-3 mission

Sri City, November 20, 2023: THK India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of THK CO., Ltd., held an ‘Open House’ ceremony at its Greenfield factory in Sri City on Monday. This is THK’s only production unit in India, specializing in linear motion guides and equipment. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Akihiro Teramachi, CEO of THK CO., Ltd. and Chairman of THK India, who lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Yasukuni Enoki, former Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Masayuki Taga, Consul-General, Mr. Ch. Rajeswara Reddy, IRS, Commissioner of Industries, and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City.

Mr. Teramachi expressed gratitude to the AP State Government and Sri City for their support, highlighting that the plant, commissioned in November 2021, produces high-quality linear motion guides for diverse industries including machine tools, medical equipment, and space exploration. He noted that the plant not only serves the local market but also exports to other countries. Dr. Sannareddy welcomed THK, emphasizing the significance of having such a high-tech manufacturing unit in Sri City, which he believes will attract more advanced manufacturing firms.

Mr. Taga praised the support extended to Japanese investors and expressed confidence that more Japanese companies would invest in Sri City. Mr. Rajeswara Reddy thanked THK for choosing Andhra Pradesh and contributing to its economic growth. CEOs of major customer companies, such as Fanuc Corporation and Bharat Fritz Werner, commended THK’s commitment to quality. The plant, built on 50 acres with an investment of approximately Rs. 600 crores, generates around 400 jobs. Mr. Teramachi also presented certificates of appreciation to companies involved in the plant’s construction and commissioning.
