Sri City, February 25, 2020: Mr. N.K. Mohapatra, Chief Executive Officer, Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) visited Sri City. Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City gave a warm reception and briefed him on the unique features and industrial progress of Sri City, which comprises a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ), Free Trade Ware housing Zone (FTWZ) and an Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), all in its precincts.
Mr. Mohapatra evinced keen interest and inquired on different aspects of Sri City, particularly on the units in electronic sector and the status of EMC. Following the briefing session, he went round the industrial park and visited CETC (India), an ancillary of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC).
Impressed with the world-class industrial infrastructure of Sri City, Mr. N K Mohapatra appreciated the efforts of Sri City management for developing such a mega industrial park, that created ample employment opportunities.
Annotating on the visit, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said that Mr. Mohapatra’s visit is very important for us and his observations and suggestion are very valuable.
The intent of the visit was to explore the available business opportunities for electronic clusters at the EMC of Sri City, as directed by Government of India. He was accompanied by a team of officials
‘Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI)’, a Non–Profit Organisation engaged in developing various skills required in the electronics systems from design to manufacturing and services, is promoted by six major Associations of Electronics Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Industry. ESSCI’s mandate is to establish a structured mechanism in strengthening the existing Vocational-Education & Industry-Oriented Training system to achieve global standards of workmanship and facilitate a world-class ecosystem for skill development in electronics sector.
