Sri City, July 27, 2018: A ten-days skill foundation course commenced for the 9th class girl students of the Balayogi Gurukul Patashala (AP Social Welfare Residential Education Institute), Sullurupeta at the Sri City Siemens Technical Skill Development Institute (SSTSDI), on Thursday. Altogether over 50 girls are attending the course.
The foundation course, that runs from 26th July to 4th Aug 2018, covers computers basics (including MS Office) and two wheeler mechanism, and Mr. Yogi Anvesh, Mr. Prem Swaroop, Mr. Damodar and Mr. Chenchaiah are the trainers. The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, as a part of it’s skill development initiatives for the school students, sponsored these students.
A similar programme is being planned for the 9th class students of Irugulam and Madanapalem High Schools. Sri City Foundation coordinates the conduct of these training courses.
SSTSDI, which was started in May 2017 offers skill training to students from schools, ITI, Polytechnic & Engineering colleges in the region. Training is provided in Computer basics, Computer Aided Design (CAD), automobile engineering and welding. Till date, in all trades put together, more than 500 students received training here.
